Feeling stronger after a good nights sleep. Saw five other thru hikers, thus making ten since yesterday.
Ran into Larry, a trail angel who maintains the Scissors crossing water caches. In such an arid area, these caches are a huge help to all thru hikers. Thanks again, Larry, for all your efforts. On a musical note (pun alert), thank you also for your rendition of “The Band Played Waltzing Matilda”! Memorable way to finish the hiking day!
Hiking through the dry interior of southern CA, I came up with my five favourite films that were set in desert landscapes (at least partly). In no particular order:
A. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.
C. The Hangover
D. Lawrence of Arabia
E. The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
