An early start saw me reach the halfway milepost of the PCT just after sunrise. With the first rays of light streaming through the pines it seemed appropriate to say thank you. Thanks to the PCTA and trail crews for their tireless efforts in maintaining this wonderful pathway. Thanks to the Trail Angels who contribute so much to the overall experience of all PCT hikers. And finally thanks to all my fellow wayfarers with whom I have had the good fortune to meet and/or walk with along the way.
A couple of hours down the trail I met Babalu and his boy scout troop from Redding, CA. A great group of kids, they were heading south towards Donner Pass. Best of luck on your journey, guys!
