On January 28 I did an interview with Network 10’s (Australia) Los Angeles bureau. It was the first time I had ever been on television. Whilst it was a little surreal hiking in the shadows of the Hollywood sign, I was made to feel at ease by Dan and Ben, the interviewer and cameraman, both of whom were top blokes. A great experience and definitely a departure from spending the majority of the past eighteen months wandering solo through the wilderness. The day was topped off by a gorgeous sunset over Santa Monica beach, a none-too-shabby doner kebab and a much anticipated 6pm viewing of The Hobbit at the Broadway 4 Cinemas.

you are a truly inspirational bloke. Hope you’re happy with the story mate was a pleasure to meet you, so many stories to tell so little time in a news story. Till next time happy traveling!
Ben (said cameraman)
Hey Ben,
Thanks for the kind words. It was great meeting you guys as well. In regards to the story, double thumbs up………you and Dan did an awesome job putting it together!
Cheers,
Cam
Literally the exact same reaction as when I mentioned Cam would be breaking some records if all went according to plan. Captures you well!
Great to hear from you, Will! Funnily enough I was just talking to a friend yesterday about the GET and your name was mentioned. They couldn’t believe that someone would do the GET as their first thru hike! In regards to records, the only ones I’ve ever really been interested in are of the vinyl variety…………jimi, floyd, zeppelin, ziggy, maybe even a bit of Neil Diamond “Hot August Night”………aaaaaahhhh the memories………..
